Abstract

Prepared by a large, multidisciplinary group (geology, seismology, and strong ground motion, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, lifeline engineering and industrial plants, architecture, urban planning, and social sciences) who systematically reviewed observations from many post-earthquake investigations of the past decade (1975-1985) to extract the more important lessons that will systematically further the national goal of earthquake hazard mitigation.
